Aston Martin has expanded into the motorcycle sector with the AMB 002, a road-legal superbike developed in partnership with Brough Superior. This initiative follows the track-focused AMB 001, which the manufacturer called “sensational,” and represents the brand’s first production motorcycle beyond concept vehicles.
The bike that resembles a car
The AMB 002 draws extensively from Aston’s automotive styling cues, incorporating side strakes, twin exhausts, and rear light blades—features typically found on its luxury sedans. The bodywork integrates carbon fiber components, meticulously shaped to emphasize smooth contours and compact dimensions. Even the leather seating reflects the brand’s automotive traditions.
Unlike its four-wheeled siblings, the AMB 002 does not use a naturally aspirated 6.0-liter V12. Instead, it employs a 1.0-liter four-stroke V-Twin generating 130 horsepower and 81 lb-ft of torque. Brough engineered the powerplant for strong low- and mid-range delivery, using elements like a CNC-machined billet engine case and aerospace materials. The motorcycle’s titanium frame, milled from a single piece, weighs just 5 kg—lighter than many car door handles, and helps keep the total weight at 190 kg, positioning it within the superbike category.
The suspension system adopts Aston’s automotive approach, featuring double wishbone arrangements at both ends, an uncommon trait in motorcycles. Its construction reflects its heritage: precision takes precedence over raw power, with techniques borrowed from automotive and aerospace engineering.

A limited-edition project
Aston and Brough will manufacture only 300 units of the AMB 002, solidifying its status as a collector’s piece. While the final price has not been disclosed, the blend of custom engineering and brand prestige ensures it will surpass most production motorcycles in cost.
Owners will see the AMB 002 as more than transportation, it serves as a brand statement. Its design and craftsmanship align with Aston’s premium automobiles, though the 1.0-liter V-Twin’s engineering suggests this is no mere gimmick.
